Job Overview

Red Seal Electric Ltd. is seeking a qualified Bookkeeper to manage full-cycle accounting for our electrical contracting operations in the Greater Vancouver area. This is an on-site role, requiring attendance at our Richmond office.

The Bookkeeper will maintain accurate financial records, oversee payroll and statutory reporting, manage payables and receivables, track project costs, and ensure compliance with CRA and provincial regulations. All accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions are performed using QuickBooks Desktop and Sage.

  • College diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field
  • Minimum 3–4 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience in construction or project-based environments is preferred
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Sage
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations, including T4 and T5018 reporting
  • Experience preparing progress draws / progress billings preferred
  • Ability to work on-site (in person)

Areas of Responsibility
●      Various aspects of general admission

●      Intake and onboarding of new employees

●      File WorkSafeBC injury report

●      Prepare journal entries and post to the general ledger in QuickBooks

●      Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing clients and monitoring collections

●      Prepare progress draws / progress billings for ongoing projects

●      Manage accounts payable and process vendor and subcontractor payments

●      Conduct credit reviews and collections follow-ups

●      Maintain filing and record systems (clerical duties)

●      Perform general office and administrative duties as required

●      Track project expenses and assist with job costing for electrical contracts

●      Process bi-weekly payroll, including overtime, vacation pay, and statutory deductions

●      Prepare and remit payroll source deductions, GST, health tax, and other required remittances

●      Prepare Job Profitability Report Monthly

●      Prepare T4 slips for employees and T5018 slips for subcontractors

●      Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs) as required

●      Prepare trial balances, financial statements, and supporting year-end documentation

●      Ensure compliance with CRA and internal financial controls

 

Computer and Technology Knowledge
●      QuickBooks Desktop (all accounting functions)

●      Sage Accounting Software

●      Exaktime (timesheets for payroll)

●      Construction Software Platforms such as Textura and Procore

●      MS Excel

●      MS Word

Employment Requirements
●      College diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field
