Job Overview
Shig’s Enterprises Limited is looking for two permanent full-time assistant cooks at our Japanese grocery store, Fujiya Japanese Foods.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Prepare and cook Japanese meals for bento (boxed meals), deli menus, and other catering menus
– Plan and create new menus and ensure food meets quality standards
– Fill in for or assist the head chef
– Responsible for scheduling and substituting when the head chef is off-duty
– Instruct kitchen helpers
– Clean kitchen and work area
Education, skills and experience required:
– Completion of secondary school
– Minimum 2 years of experience of food preparation in commercial environment
Language: English
Compensation: $21.00/hour, 40.00 hrs/week, 10days paid vacation, bonus depending on performance
