Nighthawk Cannabis Inc. is seeking experienced General Farm Workers to assist with outdoor cannabis cultivation, crop maintenance, plant inspection, harvesting, and general farm operations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will perform the following duties:
Plant, cultivate, irrigate, and maintain outdoor cannabis crops.
Prepare fields, soil, planting areas, and irrigation systems for crop production.
Weed, prune, trellis, thin, and maintain cannabis plants throughout the growing season.
Apply fertilizers and assist with crop care according to farm procedures.
Monitor crop health and identify signs of pests, disease, nutrient deficiency, plant stress, or other crop health concerns.
Inspect cannabis plants for quality, health, and readiness for market.
Identify male, female, and hermaphroditic cannabis plants.
Inspect the top, middle, and lower sections of cannabis plants for male flowers or hermaphroditic characteristics.
Flag, report, and assist with removal of male or hermaphroditic plants to prevent pollination.
Assist with crop scouting across a large-scale outdoor cannabis farm of approximately 112 acres and more than 50,000 plants.
Maintain strong attention to detail while inspecting large numbers of cannabis plants in outdoor field conditions.
Help protect crop quality, flower production, and market readiness by supporting timely plant inspections and crop maintenance.
Harvest cannabis crops and assist with post-harvest handling.
Clean and maintain farm work areas, tools, equipment, bins, racks, and supplies.
Load, unload, and move farm materials, harvested crops, and supplies.
Operate hand tools and basic farm equipment safely.
Follow company Standard Operating Procedures, farm safety rules, and cannabis production requirements.
Work safely and efficiently in a physically demanding outdoor farm environment.
Requirements
Education:
No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
Experience:
Applicants must have:
Minimum 3 years of agricultural field experience.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on cannabis cultivation experience.
Practical experience identifying male, female, and hermaphroditic cannabis plants.
Experience with outdoor crop care, irrigation, pruning, trellising, weeding, and harvesting.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Hot, dusty, noisy, and physically demanding environment.
Repetitive tasks.
Standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 23 kg / 50 lbs.
Ability to work in a rural farm location.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
