Having a Journeyman Certificate or equivalent hands-on experience in a related HVAC, refrigeration or mechanical field would be an asset
Additional HVAC industry certifications, trade tickets, safety certifications, or manufacturer-specific training will be preferred
Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems, including heat pumps, VRF or VRV systems, air conditioners, ventilation equipment

Responsibilities
Tasks
Install and overhaul heating systems
Install ventilation, air handling and air conditioning systems
Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation
Measure and lay out reference points for installation
Prepare tenders and quotations
Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements
Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components
Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment
Provide customer service
Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices
Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system
Interpret gas codes
Handle, recover and store refrigerants
Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems
Troubleshoot residential heating systems
Troubleshoot residential ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
